Wearing masks scientifically has a preventive effect on respiratory infections such as new coronary pneumonia and flu, which not only protects oneself, but also benefits public health. At present, under the situation of fighting against the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, in order to guide the public to wear masks scientifically to effectively prevent and control the epidemic and protect public health, the following guidelines are specially proposed.

 

1. The general public

(1) At home and outdoors, there is no gathering of people and good ventilation. Protection advice: don't wear a mask.

(2) In places where people are dense, such as offices, shopping, restaurants, meeting rooms, workshops, etc.; or take a van elevator, public transportation, etc. Protection recommendations:

In medium and low-risk areas, spare masks (disposable medical masks or medical surgical masks) should be worn with you, and wear masks when in close contact with other people (less than or equal to 1 meter).

In high-risk areas, wear disposable medical masks.

(3) For those who have cold symptoms such as coughing or sneezing. Protection recommendations: wear disposable medical masks or medical surgical masks.

(4) For those who live in isolation from their homes and who are discharged from the hospital. Protection recommendations: wear disposable medical masks or medical surgical masks.


2. Personnel in specific places

(1) It is located in a crowded hospital, bus station, train station, subway station, airport, supermarket, restaurant, public transportation, and the import and export of communities and units.

Protection recommendations:

In medium and low risk areas, staff wear disposable medical masks or surgical masks.

In high-risk areas, workers wear medical surgical masks or protective masks that meet KN95/N95 and above.

(2) In crowded places such as prisons, nursing homes, welfare homes, mental health medical institutions, school classrooms, and construction site dormitories. Protection recommendations:

In medium and low-risk areas, spare masks (disposable medical masks or medical surgical masks) should be worn with you daily, and wear masks when people gather or make close contact with others (less than or equal to 1 meter).

In high-risk areas, workers wear medical surgical masks or protective masks that meet KN95/N95 and above; other personnel wear disposable medical masks.
